How to Submit, What to Submit:
CAUTION: If your poem or prose is posted on Lit Mag or in any public medium, many other literary magazines and publishers will not consider this same piece for their publications.
At any time after you have finished reading the War Hero book, you may submit up to 3 poems or short prose pieces for possible inclusion in Gaia Chi Lit Mag, an online presentation. Send as docx, pdf, or odt attachments to an email sent to GaiaChiLit@gmail.com, subject: Submission. Inside each attachment include your initials with city and state or country (if not US) after the poem OR your name OR pseudonym, preceded by “Copyright 2026” or first year poem was completed in the form submitted. This type of copyright is free, automatic, and is not registered with the copyright office. For example:
Frog kick
aaaaaaaaaaa aaaaaa aaaaaa
bbbb bbbb bbbbbbb bb bbb
cccc cccccccc c ccc cccc.

Use Times New Roman 12 point font. Submissions are most likely to be considered if they are less than 16 lines and 150 words, if they are not didactic, and if they are in some slant way relevant to the themes, characters, or incidents in the War Hero book, loosely decided. Include your name and email address (which will not appear publicly) in the body of the email, not the attachment(s). You do not need to write a note to editor.
If you wish to include a very brief note which may be printed with selected poems, you may explain its significance por how you came to write the poem. (“My dog died while my brother served as a chef during Operation Epic Fury.”)
Your submission is your promise that it is your original creation (and you did not use AI), does not include key phrases or lines from any other work not your own, and you take full responsibility for any copyright violation of any other written work.
Gaia Chi Lit does not currently provide any payment for works chosen and does not retain any rights to your work other than the right to publish it on this or a connected website. You can submit a previously published work if you still own all rights to publish it again. At our option, we may keep an accepted work on our site for as short or long a period as we choose without further permission from you.
