Walk in the Park

Woman cries into the lifelines of her palms,

sits on a timber of the park path stairs.

From whom must she hide her tears

so publicly, almost begging for alms?

I sit six feet away. Would she like to talk?

She moves two steps down. I'm okay. I'm okay.

Sad how we lock ourselves in loneliness from undeserved shame.
